Frequently Asked Questions
-
It depends on the course and your state. Each course page lists the CE category, hour amount, and relevant rule citations. As a general guide: ethics courses meet Oregon supervised ethics requirements (OAR 334-010-0050) and Washington ethics CE (WAC 246-830). Cultural competency and health equity courses apply toward NCBTMB CE and Oregon and Washington general CE hours. See the State CE Acceptance page for state-by-state guidance, and always confirm your specific requirements with your licensing board before enrolling.
-
Yes. All ethics courses at Listening Field Training meet Oregon's supervised ethics CE requirement under OAR 334-010-0050. Supervision is fulfilled through a written assignment that Melissa reads and responds to personally — not an auto-graded quiz, not a completion checkbox. Check the CE Hours section of each course page for the specific hour amount and category.
-
No. The OPMC module is a separate Oregon requirement that must be completed through the OPMC directly. The pain-focused courses here count toward your ethics CE hours but do not replace the OPMC module. If you are an Oregon licensee, you will still need to complete the OPMC requirement independently at least once per renewal period.

Listening Field Training offers two delivery formats.
Most courses are hosted on Teachable. After enrolling, you log into the Teachable platform and work through text-based lessons, written reflections, discussion board prompts, and quizzes at your own pace. No downloads required — everything lives in the platform.
The Pain-Informed Ethical Practice and Cultural Humility in Pain Care courses work differently. These are workbook courses. After purchase, you receive a PDF workbook delivered directly to your email inbox. The workbook contains everything — all course content, reading, reflection prompts, case vignettes, and your final quiz. There is no platform to log into, no video to watch, no account to create. You work through the modules at your own pace, on paper or on screen, within 30 days of purchase. When you finish, you type your assignment and quiz answers into a document and email them to Melissa. She reads your work, writes back with individualized feedback, and issues your certificate by email within 24–48 business hours. The entire course — from purchase to certificate — happens through your inbox. These are the only courses at Listening Field Training delivered this way.
Every course page states clearly which format applies before you purchase.

All courses at Listening Field Training are supervised. That supervision is real, not automated.
For Teachable courses, supervision happens through written reflections and discussion board participation. Melissa reviews your submissions and responds personally before your certificate is issued.
For the workbook courses, it works like this: after completing the modules, you email your typed written assignment and quiz answers directly to Melissa. She reads what you wrote. She writes back. That exchange — a real response from a real instructor — is what fulfills Oregon's supervised ethics CE requirement under OAR 334-010-0050, Interactive Distance Learning via email submission. If your submission needs revision, Melissa will tell you and you may be asked to resubmit before your certificate is issued. You are not submitting into a void. Someone is on the other side.
-
No. All courses are self-paced and completed on your own schedule. There are no live sessions, Zoom calls, scheduled meeting times, or in-person requirements. Teachable courses are accessed through the platform. Workbook courses are completed via PDF and submitted by email.
-
After purchase, Teachable automatically sends you two confirmation emails. Go to listening-field-training.teachable.com/sign_in, enter the email address you used at checkout, and Teachable will send you a one-time login code. No password required. The email you use to log in must exactly match the email used at checkout.
Listening Field Training is not able to assist with Teachable account issues, login code delivery, or device and browser troubleshooting — those go through Teachable support directly.
-
For Teachable courses, you have 30 days from purchase to begin, and 5 days from first module access to complete all required coursework. One extension of up to 3 days may be granted if you request it before your completion window closes. If the window expires without completion, re-enrollment is required.
For the workbook courses, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to complete the modules, submit your assignment and quiz, and receive your certificate. After 30 days, instructor feedback and certificate issuance are not guaranteed.
-
Yes. You must enroll using your full legal name — the name that appears on your massage therapy license. Accounts created with initials, a business name, or an email-only display name may be flagged or delayed until identity is verified. Your legal name must be confirmed before a certificate can be issued.
-
Yes. For Teachable courses, your certificate is issued after Melissa reviews your participation and confirms all required coursework is complete — typically within 24–48 business hours, excluding weekends and holidays. For the workbook courses, your certificate arrives by email within 24–48 business hours after Melissa reviews your assignment and confirms your quiz score. Keep your certificate with your CE records. Oregon requires CE documentation for five years.
-
80% for all courses. For the workbook courses: Pain-Informed Ethical Practice requires 16 out of 20. Cultural Humility in Pain Care requires 4 out of 5. If you do not pass on the first attempt, Melissa will reach out with retake instructions.
-
All sales are final once course access has been delivered. For Teachable courses, no refunds are issued after access has been granted — this includes technical issues with your device or internet, difficulty navigating Teachable, misunderstanding of course format, or failure to verify state acceptance before enrolling. For the workbook courses, refunds are not available once the PDF has been sent, as it is a digital product delivered immediately upon purchase.
If you have questions about whether a course is right for you before purchasing, email info@listeningfieldtraining.com. Melissa is happy to help you figure that out before you commit.
-
Email info@listeningfieldtraining.com before enrolling. Many NCBTMB-approved courses are accepted across the country, but acceptance varies. Do not purchase a course solely for CE credit in your state until you have confirmed acceptance with both Listening Field Training and your licensing board.
