How to Complete All Your Oregon CE Online

Oregon requires 25 hours of continuing education every two years. Many therapists assume they need to attend in-person workshops to meet those requirements. They don't. With the right provider, you can complete every required hour online, including your supervised ethics credits.

Here's how to structure your renewal so you can finish everything from home.

Understanding Oregon's CE Categories

Oregon breaks its 25 CE hours into specific categories. You need 4 hours in ethics, boundaries, or communication, all of which must be supervised. You need 4 additional supervised hours in any approved topic. You need 1 hour in cultural competency. You need to complete the pain management module if you haven't already. The remaining hours, up to 17, can be in any approved topic and completed as online self-study.

What Online Supervised Looks Like

Supervised does not mean in-person. Oregon accepts online courses as supervised when they include documented instructor interaction. This means courses with required discussion boards where the instructor provides feedback, live webinar components, or structured assignments with instructor review all qualify.

The key is that you and the instructor are exchanging ideas, not just clicking through slides. A pre-recorded video with a quiz does not count as supervised, but a course with structured discussion and feedback does.

Building Your 25-Hour Plan Online

Here is one way to structure a fully online renewal. Start with a 4-hour trauma-informed ethics course that includes discussion boards. This covers your supervised ethics requirement. Add a 2-hour boundaries course with peer interaction for additional supervised hours. Take the Cultural Competency and Health Equity CE course for your cultural competency hour plus one additional CE hour. Complete the pain management module if needed. Fill remaining hours with self-study courses in any approved massage therapy topic.

This approach covers every required category while staying fully online.

Bundles Make It Easier

Rather than piecing together individual courses, Oregon CE bundles package the required categories together. A well-designed bundle ensures you meet every supervised, ethics, and cultural competency requirement without tracking each hour separately.

The Listening Field offers Oregon-specific bundles that cover your full renewal in one package. Each bundle is designed around Oregon's exact requirements so nothing gets missed.

Getting Started
