Four Course Modules
Module 1: The Changing Conditions of Care
Explore capacity as contextual, multidimensional, and changeable. Examine the professional expectations that can make predictability look like commitment and change look like failure.
You will practice distinguishing diagnosis-focused curiosity from questions that support access, safety, consent, and present planning.
Module 2: Listening to Present Capacity
Move from “What is wrong?” to “What is workable?”
You will develop a concise beginning-of-session check-in, create Plan A and Plan B options, establish clear stopping points, and offer choices without transferring the therapist’s responsibilities to the client.
Module 3: Consent When Conditions Change
Consent is not secured once and carried through the session unchanged.
You will examine the difference between permission, tolerance, compliance, silence, uncertainty, and affirmative willingness. A structured consent process helps you pause, ask, offer manageable choices, and confirm the revised agreement.
Module 4: Adapting, Documenting, and Repairing
Learn to adjust position, duration, pacing, touch, sensory conditions, transitions, and session goals while preserving dignity.
You will also practice neutral documentation, transparent limit-setting, and repair after a therapist’s assumption, disbelief, pressure, or unsolicited advice has damaged trust.

Certificate Requirements
To receive your certificate of completion, you must:
Complete all four course modules and private learning activities
Submit the 500–700-word Conditions of Care Case Analysis
Submit answers to the 20-question final quiz
Earn a score of at least 80%, or 16 correct answers out of 20
Submit the course evaluation
Demonstrate satisfactory completion of the supervised assignment
Incomplete or not-yet-competent work may be returned for revision.
